Year 25 of the After. The virus that first destroyed the insect realm ripped through the rest of the ecosystem. Our finest scientific minds were the first to fall, searching for a cure, a test, a treatment, but finding only exposure and consumption. Governments, consumed by their own quest for dominance in the chaos, also fell as their citizens and food stores turned to dust. Only those of us with a mysterious genetic mutation were able to evade its wrath and find desperate means of survival on this now barren planet. We thought we were lucky. We now live like roaches. We Were Once Locust is a collection of 12 harrowingly hypnotic percussive cues, layered with tense drones, gristly textures, subtle vocalizations and other organic rhythmic layers.
